CAD/CAM Designer – Fixed Restorations (3Shape)

About the Role:
A well-established full-service dental laboratory in Charlotte, NC is seeking a highly experienced CAD/CAM Designer – Fixed Technician with strong, hands-on expertise in 3Shape to support advanced fixed restorative workflows.
This role requires direct, proven experience in CAD design — particularly designing custom abutments using the split-file method. The ideal candidate is confident managing complex implant cases independently and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design crowns and custom abutments using 3Shape, including advanced split-file workflows.
- Independently design custom implant abutments with precision and efficiency.
- Perform Encode decoding and work confidently with scan bodies.
- Support implant restorative cases from design through production readiness.
- Pre-finish and work with green-state zirconia as needed.
- Perform scanning of models and cases when required.
- Nest cases for milling (experience with MillBox is a plus).
- Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure accuracy, quality, and turnaround times.
- Maintain high standards for consistency, communication, and case documentation.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have):
- Strong, direct experience in CAD design within a dental laboratory environment.
- Advanced 3Shape design capability — this is a MUST.
- Demonstrated experience designing custom abutments using the split-file method.
- Solid experience with implant workflows, including scan bodies and Encode systems.
- Ability to manage cases independently in a high-volume, deadline-driven setting.
- Detail-oriented, quality-focused, and highly reliable.
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with MillBox nesting software.
- Cross-training in scanning and production workflows.
- Background in full-service lab environments.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Estimated salary: ~$70,000–$90,000/year, depending on experience.
